Christmas is over.
Well Grace has now had her first Chrismas and didn't she have fun!! Piles of presants and lots and lots of visitors. As usual Grace took it all in her stride - she especially enjoyed seeing all the people that came to visit over the festive time. There's still no sign of Grace's teeth but we think they may be on the way. She's certainly getting more mobile around the floor - maybe not proper crawling but she gets around in her own way!

Snow in November!
Today we've woken up to a beautiful covering of snow outside (well we've had a centimetre or two!) If forecasts are correct we've heading for the coldest winter in 40 years, of course Grace wont remember any of it! Grace is still doing very well and is just recovering from a bit of a cold. We now attend a new music group called "Jo Jingles" on ce a week which Grace seems to enjoy, particularly when they get the bubble machine out. More news soon and hopfully some new pictures.

Update
We haven't had a chance to post our news lately - sorry! As you can see from the latest photos Grace is getting good at sitting up by herself and is enjoying all her food. She was weighed this Tuesday and is now 19 lbs 3 1/2 ozs - as her great Nan recently said - V.solid! Although Grace can't yet crawl she can work her way around the floor by pushing backwards and sliding across the laminate - until she gets stuck by a chair leg or table! We're all still enjoying the baby signing and Dad even came to a couple of lessons recently, Grace is yet to sign herself though.

Quick Update
We've had a fairly quiet time lately. Grace is still enjoying all her food. So far she has only rejected Papaya & Advacado. Grace finds it very frustrating turning over and then not being able to move anywhere, I'm sure she'll soon be crawling around at top speed!

Signing & Holiday
Grace has had a very busy time recently (hence the lack of post!) A fortnight ago we had our first baby signing lesson. (This is teaching babies to do British sign language.) So far we have learnt signs for food, 'all done', more & milk. We can't wait until Grace can sign back to us. We've also been on holiday, we went down to Cornwall to stay at Granny & Grandad's house. Unfortunately the weather was not very good so we didn't get a chance to paddle in the sea. We did go down to the Lizard though (Britain's most southerly point) and Grace could hear the waves crashing against the rocks. We also visited a dairy farm which makes clotted cream ice cream (yum!) and Grace met a cow for the 1st time and it even licked her hand - which Grace didn't seem to like very much!

Weigh in and Update
Grace has had another great week. She has now started to use her new high chair (see picture) and has had her first taste of real food - just baby rice and a bit of banana so far. She seems to be enjoying the new experience. We had an afternoon out at the weekend to Coaly peak which is a lovely place to have a walk and there is a great view. She was weighed at clinic yesterday and is now 16lbs 1 oz.

Update
Another great week for Grace. Last Tuesday she weighed 15 lbs 3ozs, she gets more active by the day and has now started chatting in "baby talk" which is very cute. On Saturday we went to a family party to celebrate cousin Jamie & Donnas wedding. She got to meet some of her cousins (there's sooo many!) This was a big adventure as we stayed overnight in a hotel and Grace was kept up very late - as you can see from the picture Grace found it all exhausting!

Clinic update
Grace has been weighed again today and she is now 14lbs 4ozs. Since finding her thumb a week or so ago she now doesn't seem to want to let go! The health visitor advised there is little or nothing we can do to dissuade her at this stage so we'll just have to live with it for the time being.

Update
Well, as you can see from the picture below Grace sat unsupported for the first time, luckily Dad was there with his camera to capture the moment. We all think this was a bit of a fluke as Grace hasn't been able to sit like this again yet. We've had a couple of buzy weekends with cousin Cori & Steve coming up last weekend and Grannie & Grandad with the Tinsley clan this weekend. Grace coped with all the attention very well and didn't mind being passed around for cuddles one bit!

Clinic Day
Grace had her 2nd injections this Tuesday. No ill effects so far this time - she's just been a bit tired. She now weighs 13 lbs 8ozs. As you can see from the photo she is getting stronger and now likes being on her front for a short time. She is still dribbling loads but no sign of any teeth yet!.

Weekly update
No visit to clinic this week as Mummy had her Ante-Natal group reunion. It was nice to see all the other Mum's and their Babies. I was the oldest baby - but not the biggest! After that get together some of the Mum's came to our house for coffee which was great as I had some new play mates. I am still practicing to roll over - it's very hard work!

Weekly update
Phew, isn't it hot! Summer has finally arrived with a heatwave and we're all struggling to keep cool. This week Mummy learnt how to do baby massage which I am now beginning to like very much. This week at clinic I weighed 12lbs 1 1/2 ozs. I didn't put on much weight but that's probably down to the heat. I had an exciting day yesturday because I went to the shops in Bristol with Mummy and Nanny and Nanny took me for a walk in the park while Mummy was at the hairdressers. It was a lovely day out but it was very hot.

Weekly update
Hi All,
This week at clinic I weighed in at 11 lbs 13ozs, which Mum & Dad think is really good. Daddy plays a new game with me now which I love where he moves his hand in the air and gets closer and closer and then tickles me! I have been sucking my hands lots and also kicking about on my playmat. I am starting to practice rolling over (just arching my back at the moment) but Mummy thinks it will be a while yet before I can roll over by myself.
Love form Grace.

Big day at Clinic
Grace and I had a big day at the clinic this week. It was our "8 week" check, the Dr said Grace had a very srong back & neck for her age - which means she will have no trouble sitting up straight on her own soon. She now weighs 11 lbs 6ozs. It was also time for her first jabs - she coped with them very well and was only a bit upset for a short while afterwards. After a dose of Calpol she still slept all through the night - what a star she is!
